TIDE Institute—NADE Scholarship

Purpose of award

This scholarship is intended to assist in defraying expenses to the TIDE Institute (Technology Institute for Developmental Educators) held on the campus of Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.

Criteria for evaluation

NADE membership

one or more years as an educator or administrator in a Developmental Education program

current employment as an educator or administrator in a Developmental Education program

letter from supervisor acknowledging ability to attend TIDE if this award is received

description of a technology project that would be used at the Institute for hands-on instruction and practice

Participant will present a report or a concurrent session at the conference that immediately follows attendance at TIDE

a letter from the applicant (limit of 1-2 pages) stating

length of membership in NADE

number of years and type of experience in Developmental Education

anticipated impact of how participation in the TIDE Institute will contribute to their work as a developmental educator

• $500 NADE stipend

(a) letter of application stating (1) length of membership in NADE, (2) number of years experience in developmental education, and (3) anticipated impact of how participation in the TIDE Institute will contribute to work as a developmental educator (limit of one to two pages);

(b) letter of administrative support to attend the TIDE Institute (limit of one page).
