WELCOME

TADE recognizes Developmental Education as a process to assist
underprepared students in overcoming individual barriers to academic
success, and supports the implementation of programs which encompass
the full range of academic and effective skills development.
Developmental Education enables students to use reading, writing,
mathematical, and problem solving skills across the curriculum to achieve
their educational and career goals.
PURPOSES
Within the field of Developmental Education, TADE strives to:
improve the practices and effectiveness of Developmental Education services in Texas
promote the growth and development of Developmental Education programs within the state
foster research - locally and statewide

NADE AFFILIATE
TADE is one of the many state chapters affiliated with NADE, the National Association for Developmental Education. Joint membership in TADE and NADE is
strongly encouraged. Members are provided with reduced conference registration fees, state and national newsletters, a nationally distributed journal, a national
placement agency, a national task force and committee working to reach legislators across the country and solicit their support in regard to the needs of
developmental educators, and last, but certainly not least, the sharing, caring, and expertise of collages throughout Texas and across the country.
